Mt.Vic.Matt Such a strong debut, excellent assured Australian indie power pop. A band to watch. Favorite track: Wild Days.

H.L. I picked this one up in advance of a holiday trip. In these times I always need some softer music for my companion which rocks only a little. But MOANING LISA's charming alternative indie rock even rocks a bit more. The album is catchy, contains no weak tracks and reminds me a bit at The Breeders, it sounds timeless so to say. Check "Cold Water", "Too many" "Sox" or "Working still". Favorite track: Cold Water.
Brian Harrington

Brian Harrington Heavy and earnest at the same time. Wrote about the project here: deathbyalgorithm.substack.com/p/wiblt-102021 Favorite track: Something.

sbszine They have been playing these tunes live for the last few years, and it's so good to finally have them on an album. Favourite track selected based on the amount of Ellen Chan rad guitar shredding. Favorite track: Bike Riding.

Cold Water 03:40
I have hearts stitched in my sleeve I’ve spent too much of my childhood time pleasing people who didn’t listen to me Now I find myself adored Lying on a bathroom floor on my back People standing over me with glasses to my cheek (I’ll be) I’m always cool in a crisis (Fine after) just come and check the state of my wrists (A glass of) I’m always cool in a crisis (Cold water) When you woke up you were bored You said you’d seen it all before And on your way out, took your pants and shoes But forgot to lock the door behind you You and I we have not had Our fair share of sun But you, my dear You are not bad And I am not the one, two, three, four (I’ll be) I’m always cool in a crisis (Fine after) just come and check the state of my wrists (A glass of) I’m always cool in a crisis (Cold water)

Enough 04:00
My first love bought me an acoustic guitar He was a dark-haired, gentle giant libra Oh but turns out he wasn’t a keeper Because he knew who he was and I just knew I was different Oh I just knew I was different I just knew I was different I have made up a million different lives Trust me you could have been the one at any given time So if you decide to take another try on someone new I won’t mind You have given me so much already My next love told me I was like no other She was a bass-playing, purple highlighted cancer Oh but turns out she wasn’t the answer Because she was new at this and I couldn’t be her mother ‘Cause I am no one’s mother I am no one’s mother, yeah I have made up a million different lives Trust me you could have been the one at any given time So if you decide that this is too much for you now I don’t mind, it’s alright You have taught me so much already Where did all that love end up? All that closure we never got Where did all that love end up? I tell myself it’s enough (It’s enough) (It’s enough) I hope that my name doesn’t come up as just the one who broke your heart ‘Cause I still have that same guitar It’s not the best but it’s enough
3.
Waste 03:44
Feeling fluffy in my evening dress My love is an unmade bed Messy and unkempt but a safe place to rest When we’re older we could be friends Or maybe even lovers on the weekend Oh what a waste what a waste What a waste Well do the boundaries around me make you feel evolved? Was it enlightening, inspiring to make me this small? And was it only after you cut me down to size That the time we had spent made you feel the most alive Oh what a waste
4.
Too Many 03:24
Too many people None of them friends Too many lights All of them red I can’t see ahead Too many trips Not holidays Too many people And none of them stay I forgot their names You should give give up if it’s so hard Too many nights out Just living the dream I should get some sleep You should give up if it’s so hard They would kill to be where you are Too many standards I haven’t met But they’re not yours so set
5.
Bike Riding 05:18
You should be bike riding Instead of driving You should do yoga You should get a dog You should eat better You should go for a jog You should get off those meds You should take more It is all in your head Well you should be glad it’s not actually something bad Like asthma or cataracts You should worry less Yo should buy a new dress You should cut down on spending so much money Well you should take up running You should sleep eight hours at night You should fly a kite You should try to stop being sad all the time Just stop being sad all the time You should just try to stop being sad all the time
6.
Something 03:20
She has cats for eyes She speaks Mandarin She takes me out dancing Oh, she’s really something And she don’t buy new leather She applies good pressure She’s not the one No, she’s not the one for me In between great loves She was there for me Unabashed and free She gave me time to breathe I thank her every chance I get to She didn’t give me reason But she sure gave me something She said she liked my thighs I said "I’ve hated them all of my life" Still not sure if she meant it But I’ve since learnt how to take a compliment In between great loves She was there for me Unabashed and free She gave me time to breathe I thank her every chance I get to She didn’t give me reason But she sure gave me something (X2)

Inadequacy 03:36
My heart It swells and drains All at once And you can tell my brain Is not turning on I was shaken awake because I fell out of bed My greatest mistake is one I’ve yet to make It is something I’ll always dread Something like this But not this Yeah something like this But not this I don’t think You say shoes or pants first? And I don’t know how to answer So I just keep dancing ‘round These things I’ll never master While you You’ll be so cool Yeah you You’re so cool I can barely handle it C’mon now let me prove You used to love it When I sang to you C’mon now let me know We’re not us anymore But you still feel the most like home When you look down at new bruises and you can’t remember how they got there or when? Well that’s me My heart’s not a bone But I can feel it breaking Beneath the boots in which you’re shaking And you I don’t know how to answer When you Keep on taking more than I can offer Saying shoes or pants first? And I don’t know how to answer So I just keep dancing ‘round These things I’ll never master While you You’ll be so cool Yeah you Sit there being so aloof Yeah you you’re so cool I can barely handle it I don’t think I can handle you
8.
Sox 03:57
You keep your socks on Because your feet get cold easily I’ll go for as long as you want Or until I start to feel dizzy Cause I get overwhelmed And you seem to need so much from me Or is it just more than I can offer right now I’m trying real hard To keep it in my head Sex is all in the head Sex is in the head The big man listens better When his big hand’s in your sweater so You keep it all in your head You keep it all in your head Keep it in your head Your childhood sexual trauma Made you one hell of a martyr In the bedroom your stranger You can’t help but feel endangered
9.
Don't Dream 03:31
You’re feeling angry and you don’t know why You’ve got a car now but you still won’t drive You keep your room clean You make your bed We’ll never know what’s really going on in your head You always tell me hey, it’s not that deep You’re getting nosebleeds and you still can’t sleep You’re making money You love yourself You say you’re healthy but I still can’t tell So sleep Don’t dream Bite down on my hand so you don’t grind your teeth Just sleep Don’t dream You’ve got a phone-line to your family You only realise at the end of the week You’ve got good friends now A sense of style You’ll be an anchor when we’re caught inside the turnstyle You take on too much it’s just what you do You’re happy knowing we could never fill those shoes You’ve had a life that we’ll never know When it gets heavy you can tell me so Now sleep Don’t dream Bite down on my hand so you don’t grind your teeth Just sleep Don’t dream I don’t want to make you mad Can’t believe the year we’ve had You don’t have to stay You’re done for the day So lay your head down And sleep Don’t dream Bite down on my hand so you don’t grind your teeth Just sleep Don’t dream

I’ve had three dreams in one hour When I woke up it felt like days And the rest of the week I didn’t sleep But I held my hand out for that pay cheque that I need to eat What’s the big deal? When I have two hands Working still What’s the big deal You’re sad but you’re working still Oh what’s the big deal Your boss tells you you’re an asset But don’t mistake that for praise Cause he’ll ask you to forfeit all of your sick days Hand you a pamphlet on their workplace safety policy What’s the big deal? When I have two hands Working still What’s the big deal You’re sad but you’re working still Oh what’s the big deal

Fussy 03:51
Perfect From the first time it’s got to be perfect From the first time it’s got to be Can we pick up where we left off in my head? ‘Cause so far nothing has gone wrong But I’m scared What happens when you’re here all the time? Will it match up to what’s in your mind? Will it feel how you wanted? Do you like this pedestal I’ve built for you? And now I’ve drawn your face into salt If I move on it won’t be your fault But I’ll insist it was ‘cause I’ve got no patience I’ve got no patience I do not want this if it’s not perfect Perfect From the first time it’s got to be perfect From the first time it’s got to be perfect From the first time it’s got to be perfect From the first time it’s got to be perfect From the first time it’s got to be perfect From the first time it’s got to be Perfect From the first time it’s got to be perfect From the first time it’s got to be perfect From the first time it’s got to be perfect From the first time it’s got to be I have no patience I am not gracious I do not want this if it’s not perfect

Wild Days 05:02
Too young to settle down Too old to be fucking around But I didn’t think we’d see past twenty-three We wake up to a job that pays and we don’t stay up too late But I know there’s still two misfits running through us Tell me that there’s still some wild days left in us Tell me I have the time left to change, to stray Tell me that there’s still some wild days left in us ‘Cause I don’t think I’ve had enough of making mistakes, yet No ID at the liquor store and no need to go out and score My best friend was a razor blade But I got good grades All the boys who lived on your street They liked you best on your knees Your mum set boundaries that took a decade for you to agree, with So tell me that there’s still some wild days left in us I wouldn’t do it again Oh maybe just once Maybe just once Tell me that there’s still some wild days left in us ‘Cause I don’t think I’ve had enough of making mistakes, yet My wild days are not over yet Our wild days are not over yet
